Madinah dikenal sebagai Kota Nabi Muhammad SAW. Kota ini salah satu dari dua kota paling suci bagi umat Islam. Madinah terletak di wilayah Hejaz di Arab Saudi bagian barat. Jarak dari Mekah, kota suci pertama, sekitar 443 kilometer. Madinah terkenal sebagai tempat Nabi Muhammad (SAW) menaklukkan seluruh Arab setelah hijrah dari Mekah.
Tujuan utama ke Madinah adalah ziarah ke makam Nabi Muhammad SAW, yang terletak di dalam Masjid Nabawi. Madinah hanya boleh dikunjungi orang Muslim.
Kota Madinah tak pernah sepi pengunjung yang ingin berziarah. Sekitar 2-3 juta orang diperkirakan melakukan perjalanan ke Madinah untuk haji setiap tahun. Ratusan ribu datang untuk umrah sepanjang tahun.
